 What
makes GOPODULAR! arcade controllers "the best"? |
Our controllers are made with the highest quality parts by people experienced in both
design and construction. With the Swappable Cartridge Encoders, our panels are
forward compatible with consoles that aren't even in development yet. There are no
compromises made in our products. |

 What games and
emulators are supported? |
Any game or emulator that supports gamepad inputs is supported "out of the
box". In addition, Using a program like RB-Joy
enables our controllers to function like a keyboard on the PC. |

 Are the control
panels compatible with MAME? |
Yes. 100% compatible. |

 What
consoles are supported by GOPODULAR! control panels? |
Please see the Console Cartridge
page. |

How do I hook up a panel? |
Computers use USB inputs. For consoles, it is the appropriate plug type for that
system. You just plug it in. |
return to top |
Can I use a GOPODULAR! control panel with a game that only uses keyboard
inputs? |
Using a program like RB-Joy enables our controllers to
function like a keyboard on the PC. Our Owners Manual walks you through how to set
this up. |

 Can I change
the button assignments in games? |
Yes. In any game that supports remapping the gamepad controls, you may have any
button do anything the game allows. This allows each game to have it's own
controller configuration. You can also setup RB-Joy
to imitate keyboard input. |

 Can I use adapters
with GOPODULAR! panels? |
Sometimes. Read below:

 Can I get a
different button assignment layout? |
Yes! You can even swap the top and bottom rows at no charge. |

 What parts
do you use in your arcade controllers? |
We use genuine Happ, Cherry, Sanwa, and iL parts. Each arcade controller has a
list of the specific parts and their manufacturer in its description. We do not use
"imitation" parts like our competitors. Are we afraid competitors will
copy our stuff? No, we expect it because we build stuff the way it should
be built. |

 Why do you not
recommend using the Happ P360 joystick? |
Not all platforms are guaranteed to work with the Happ 360 joystick: We designed a
work-around for the low voltage supply on the PlayStation & PS2, but it uses the
rumble feature as a power source. Many systems have that port blown out from
unplugging a controller while the unit is turned on.
The Xbox 360 system does not currently work with a P360 joystick due to the grounding
matrix it uses.
There are alignment issues with the joystick itself. The original design of the
P360 did not suffer from these issues, but the current generation does.
For these reasons, we do not use the P360 in our panels. |

Do you offer custom artwork? |
Yes. But bear in mind there are restrictions regarding copyrighted images.
You may use only images you created yourself or have permission to use by the artist that
originally created it. We have a
transfer of copyright agreement that needs to be filled out. All images
submitted become the property of GOPODULAR! for use in promotional/marketing and for
others to order. |

Do you offer "blanks" or can I get a custom controller layout
made? |
We do not offer blanks at this time, but we do offer custom controller layouts.
See the "My
Minions" page for details. |

 What forms of payment do
you accept? |

to shipping. |

 Is
there a volume discount if I buy several control panels? |
We may be able to discount our prices slightly for a very large order, but
our prices are already as low as we can get them. Any savings would likely be due to
shipping expenses. |

How long before I get my GOPODULAR! controller after ordering? |

panel is shipped, and delivery takes ~2-3 days. |

something out though. |

 What
are "8-way" and "4-way" joysticks? |
The "8" and the "4" shows the number of directions the joystick
can send out. Diagonal moves require an 8-way joystick. There is an advantage
to have a 4-way joystick though. In games like Donkey Kong, if you accidentally push
diagonally, your character will not pause like he would with an 8-way. Games like
Pac-Man are also best played with a 4-way because you can't accidentally "hit" a
diagonal. It only registers as up, down, left, or right. With an 8-way,
you'll think you went up, but Pac-Man keeps going to the side. Games can be very
frustrating to play without the proper controls.
|
return to top |
What are "balltop" and "bat-top" joysticks? |
A "balltop" joystick has a handle that is a ball. Examples are
Pac-Man, Neo-Geo games, and Donkey Kong. A "bat-top" joystick has an
oblong handle. Examples are Street Fighter and Mortal Combat.
|
return to top |
 What is an encoder? |
An "encoder" is a circuit board that accepts a switch from something like a
joystick or button and translates it into an input the PC or console can understand when
the switch is pressed. |
